Human psyche

The Gronholm Method, a play by Spanish writer Jordi Galceran, will be performed in Chinese. Four candidates are thrown together into the final round of a job interview. They are shut in a closed space and challenged with extreme situations. Director Tian Shui aims to dig deep into the human psyche with minimum stage settings and a simple story-telling style.

Canadian artists explore landscapes

Transformation of Landscape Art in Canada: Inside and Outside of Being is a group exhibition of works by 15 contemporary Canadian artists who use landscapes as their language to explore their experiences and imaginations. The exhibition displays 25 seminal works of contemporary Canadian landscape art covering painting, photography, video, mixed media installation, dance and a site specific work at the Great Mosque of Xi'an. The exhibition is co-hosted by the art museum, Canadian embassy and the Xi'an Qujiang district government.

Moonface

Canadian musician Spencer Krug has been using this name for his instrumental and conceptual musical experimentation. He will be the fi rst featured artist in a series of experimental concerts under the title Contemporale. The intimate setting of the Chamber Hall will allow audiences to experience his deep and gentle voice and innovative instrumental work.

Shane Filan to tour China

Shane Filan, former lead vocalist of Irish group Westlife, will tour China performing concerts titled You and Me. After Westlife disbanded in 2012, Filan started his solo career and released his debut album You and Me last year. He will perform in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, among other cities, playing not only his solo hits from the album but also Westlife hits.

Lecole Des Femmes

Lecole Des Femmes or The School for Wives in English, is a comedy by French playwright Moliere, and one of his most beloved masterpieces. French theater director Vincent Colin has worked with Shanghai Dramatic Art Center to present a Chinese edition of the play. This is an initiative of the center to work with leading directors from the home country of a foreign theater classic every year.

Rising spirit

A Long Way Down is a novel by British author Nick Hornby. It has been adapted to a Chinese theater show. Four strangers, struggling with their lives for different reasons, happen to meet on the top of a high-rise building on New Year's Eve. After the four fail to individually commit suicide by jumping off the building, they become close and get involved in each others' lives.
