Company promotes Spanish dance

Spain's Ballet of Murcia is on a new China tour. Dedicated to the promotion of Spanish dance, such as Flamenco, the company was founded in 1985. The first half of the performance will feature Carmen, starring Andres Fernandez and Ana Machuca, with music from Georges Bizet. The second half will feature a gala show of Flamenco, with a live music performance.

3-D in colors

Art beat in September

Xiao Bocheng's solo exhibition is ongoing with more than 10 3-D paintings on display. The 32-year-old artist, who graduated with a major in oil painting from the Guangxi Academy of Fine Arts, has been making 3-D paintings since 2005.

Carmen as ballet

Art beat in September

Spain's Ballet of Murcia has adapted Carmen, a classic opera created in 1847 by French composer Georges Bizet, into a ballet work and will present it in Beijing. Founded in 1985, Ballet of Murcia is one of the best dance troupes from Spain and is committed to preserving flamenco, the national art of Spain.
