Interview with Cathrine Doran

Cathrine Doran is the senior vice president of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau. Last week, she visited China for the first time to attend the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) in Beijing.

"As an organization, we hope to learn from other cities, how they manage certain opportunities, certain situations that they have," she said."And we can learn together as a group, and hope to grow tourism as an important part of our economic development throughout the world."

Throughout the two-day tourism summit from Sept 4-5, Doran said she hoped to seek opportunities to bring more Chinese tourists to Boston, and show them that Boston is much more than Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
