In today's world, digital products and services are changing the ways people think and act. The 2014 WTCF also discussed the new challenges, new platforms and new opportunities cities have in the digital age, and Martin Craigs, CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), was one of the keynote speakers.

"You have to think innovatively, and you have to think from the users' experience, first and foremost, especially for the new generation,"he said.

"Because they simply do not want to go to a paper. They are hooked on their screens and any information you can provide to them, whether it is to sell a destination, or to improve the experience at the destination, you need to do it in a very accessible, and user-friendly fashion on the mobile devices."
