An exhibition at Beijing's Soka Art Center lets three artists share their understanding of beauty.

Japanese artist Iida Kiriko, 45, considers snowy scenes in her hometown in Hokkaido as her main source of inspiration. White therefore becomes a dominant color in her paintings that feature delicate brushwork and show a strong influence of animation culture.

"White is the most tolerant, and brings out the depth of other colors," she said.

Chinese artist Tao Fa, 31, is greatly inspired by fairytales related to the origin of the Miao ethnic group that he belongs to. A student of prominent Chinese artist Mao Xuhui in college, his paintings have a mystical touch.

Tao Lin, 24, studied classical Chinese painting in childhood but shifted to sculpture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her ceramic sculptures show the tranquility of ink landscapes while giving them a modern feel.

The exhibition called Moving the World, Seeking Beauty runs until Nov 1.
