Art beat in August

Yunxiang is an absurdist play by Chinese author Xu Pinli. Since premiering at the Shanghai Theater Academy in 1989, the play has been translated and staged in several foreign languages. The story shifts between fantasy and reality, telling stories about love, oaths, waiting and desperation. The upcoming production is from the performance department of the fi lm school at the Zhejiang Media Institute.

With her first two albums-Lights and Halcyon-released earlier in China by Universal Music, British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding is now set for a debut concert in Beijing as part of her Halcyon Days world tour. The artist topped the BBC's annual "Sound of" poll and won the Critics' Choice Award at the British Awards in 2010. The 27-year-old has sold about 4 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide.
