The film's lead actor Chris Pratt says going from being a fan of the movie franchise to actually being part of it has been a special experience.

"Oh, my gosh! I can't pick a franchise I want to join more," an emotional Pratt says, calling himself "a small piece in an extraordinarily large puzzle".

"Sometimes, you have to allow dinosaurs to steal the scene," says the actor, who won huge popularity in China with his role as "Star-Lord" in last year's Guardians of Galaxy. He says there are challenges working on a film that is dominated by special effects.

"I have to make sure to present a story that can be compelling even without dinosaurs. But you also just need to get out of the way to allow the magic of movie-making to happen around you."

However, magic is not only for entertainment. Leading actress Bryce Dallas Howard says the story has some deeper meanings.

"This film has a meaningful message for us to consider our relationship with science and think of what we want and where are going as one species together," says Howard, the granddaughter of a sci-fi author. "Humans have a desire to progress, but it also has consequences. So it's an important story to tell right now."

"It's important to expose children to the idea of monsters, and for parents to talk about it with them," the actress, also a mother, says. "That will help children overcome any unexpected situations. If they're not exposed to the world's dangers, children will create their own."
