The Yellow Handkerchief is a 1977 Japanese film directed by Japanese director Yoji Yamada. It is the winner of the first Best Picture award at the Japan Academy Prize. The film tells the story of three people who are very lonely for different reasons and find themselves on the way to Hokkaido.
