The new series
Postman is catching people's fancy since being aired on Beijing Satellite TV from May 10.
Led by veteran actor Li Youbin and actress Ding Ning, the series tells the tale of an ace Chinese intelligence agent's missions — as an undercover postman — against Japanese invaders in the 1930s.
During a recent media interaction in Beijing, He Liu, the show's producer and director, said Postman will "respect history".
Previous attempts to capture the spy's life in popular culture haven't all been successful.
