Hubei: Li Hongzhong

Li Hongzhong, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee

Li Hongzhong, male, Han ethnic group, was born in the Changle county of the Shandong province in August of 1956. He joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1976, and started to work in August 1975. He graduated from Jilin University with a degree in history. He is also an economic engineer.

Feb. 1978: Majored in History at the Jilin University.

Feb. 1982: cardre of the secretariat of General Office in the Shenyang municipal government.

Aug. 1984: Deputy director of document management in the Shenyang municipal government.

Apr. 1985: Secretary of the general office in the Liaoning provincial Party committee.

June 1985: Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics Industry (specifically regarded as at the deputy county level in July 1986).

Sept. 1987: Secretary of the Party group in the Ministry of Electronics Industry (county level).

Nov. 1988: Vice mayor of Huizhou in Guangdong province and leading member of municipal Party group on secondment (regarded as at the deputy city level in October 1991).

Dec. 1995: Acting mayor of Huizhou city in the Guangdong province and secretary of the municipal leading Party group.

Apr. 1996: Deputy secretary of the Huizhou municipal Party committee. He was also the mayor and secretary of the municipal leading Party group. From Sept 1996 to July 1997, he studied in a one year training class at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and attended the Harvard Kennedy School in July of 1999.

March 2000: Secretary of the Huizhou municipal Party committee.

Feb. 2001: Vice governor of the Guangdong province and member of the provincial leading Party group.

May 2002: Member of the standing committee of the Guangdong provincial Party committee, vice governor and member of the provincial leading Party group.

Jan. 2003: Member of the standing committee of the Guangdong provincial Party committee, executive vice governor and deputy secretary of the leading party group.

June 2003: Member of the standing committee for the Guangdong provincial Party committee, deputy secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee, acting mayor of Shenzhen and secretary of the leading Party group. 

Feb. 2004: Member of the standing committee for the Guangdong provincial Party committee, deputy secretary of the Shenzhen municipal Party committee, mayor of Shenzhen and secretary of the leading Party group.

March 2005: Member of the standing committee of the Guangdong provincial Party committee, secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee and mayor of Shenzhen city. 

June 2005: Member of the standing committee for the Guangdong provincial Party committee, secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee, director of Shenzhen municipal people's congress, secretary of leading party group and first secretary of the Party committee of Shenzhen garrison. 

Nov. 2007: Deputy secretary of the Hubei provincial Party committee and director of the Shenzhen municipal people's congress.

Dec. 2007: Deputy secretary of the Hubei provincial Party committee and acting governor of Hubei province.

Jan. 2008: Deputy secretary of the Hubei provincial Party committee, governor of the Hubei province and secretary of the leading Party group of the Hubei provincial government.

Dec. 2010: Secretary of the Hubei provincial Party committee.

Feb 2011: Secretary of the Hubei provincial Party committee and director of the Hubei provincial people's congress. He is an alternate member of the 16th and 17th Central Committee, and representative to the 9th, 10th and 11th National People's Congress.
