The Beijing Subway ignited public anger after it criticized uncivilized passengers as "locusts" on its official micro blog on Sunday morning.

"After the locusts passed through Line 10, waste is everywhere," the post said, with a photo of rubbish on a subway carriage floor.

The post was forwarded nearly 3,700 times and received 2,378 comments before it was deleted. Many netizens criticized the State-owned company for its insulting comments.
