Local residents had a rare chance this week to visit the high security base of the local special armed police (SAP) in Qingdao, Shandong province.
Visitors were shown real counter-terrorism weapons they see nowhere but on films or TV, such as explosive disposal robots, sniper rifles, micro acoustic electric drills and corner shots. A sniper rifle on display was the most advanced weapon of its kind, with a firing range of 2,000 meters, according to police.
