The Shui On Group of Hong Kong transformed 22 old buildings in Donghuali, where Foshan's wealthy residents lived during the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), into museums, art galleries, restaurants, bars and stores, giving new life to the area's historic architecture.
The centerpiece is Jian's Villa, the city's biggest complex of western-style architecture, which was built in the early years of the Republic of China.
The Wenhuili Marriage House, which features a traditional Lingnan style wedding, is also an interesting place to visit.
LingnanTiandi, a bustling place at night, will become even more boisterous with a Halloween party this weekend.
