Trending: New roads turn into croplandsTwenty new asphalted roads that were yet to be opened to traffic inexplicably turned into croplands in Sihong county, Jiangsu province. They were covered with over a half-meter of soil and plenty of soybeans, Youth.cn reported.

Residents suspects that this was done to cover up for unannounced visits from the Ministry of Land and Resources. An investigation has been launched.

What took the audience with surprise was the background voice of one singer in the group, Robynn. She is the granddaughter of Ye Jianying (1897-1986), a founder of the People's Liberation Army.

Man in Luoyang, Henan province, worked for the past 20 years to pay off his son's debts and only had 200 yuan ($32) after paying off the full amount, Zhengzhou Evening News reported on Friday.

Wang Yueshen, 72, started to pay the debts in 1994 after his son, who ran a flour mill, left home owing 53,000 yuan ($8,485) to 150 villagers.

Doctor in Loudi, Hunan province, fed a two-month-old medical alcohol that the doctor mistook it for boiled water, rednet.cn reported on Friday.

According to the mother, the baby was taken to the hospital for vaccination and the doctor gave him the sugar pill vaccine using the liquid. The mother smelled alcohol and took the baby to another hospital for treatment.

Woman files false report to get boyfriend back

Woman in Nanchong, Sichuan province, filed a false report with police as she wanted her boyfriend back, Southwestern Metropolis Daily reported on Friday.

Du Yujuan, 41, a resident of the city, reported to police on Aug 6, 2012, that her boyfriend Chen Lin fled from her house after stealing 100,000 yuan ($16,150). Police caught Chen 19 days later in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. He denied stealing the money, and Du admitted to making a false report as she wanted him back after they had quarreled. Du was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for 14 months, but Chen married her because he felt her false report proved her love.

Elderly man dies after being forced off bus

Man in Ziyang, Sichuan province, was found dead two days after being forced off a bus for not paying enough, Southwestern Metropolis Daily reported on Friday.

Ye Ziming, 78, took the bus to see a relative on July 20 with a ticket his daughter had bought him. Ye missed his stop as the conductor failed to inform him. An onboard video camera showed him being forced off at the final stop as he did not pay for the extra trip.

Homeowners ordered to pay for girl's injury

Sixty-three homeowners of a building in Lishui, Zhejiang province, were ordered to pay a total of 210,000 yuan ($33,900) recently to a girl who was injured on April 28, 2012, when hit by a glazed tile that fell from the building, Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.

The girl, then a grade 2 primary school student, subsequently suffered mental health problems. Her father in February of this year filed a lawsuit against the homeowners of the building.
