A China-Austria cooperation center in the city of Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, recently completed construction and will open to the public on Wednesday, according to a report at a meeting in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) on Oct 17.

The center, located in NETDA’s Suzhou-Nantong Science and Technology Industrial Park, is part of the China-Austria Sutong Ecological Park (CAEP) project. An incubator for Chinese and Austrian technological enterprises has begun operation.

Both sides discussed issues regarding CAEP promotion, enterprise exchanges and vocational training.

Qiu Lixin, deputy director of the Ministry of Commerce's Foreign Investment Department presided over the meeting. Zhao Jin, vice-director of Jiangsu Commerce Department, and Dan Xiaoming, vice-mayor of the city, also attended the meeting.

China-Austria Sutong Ecological Park is a collaborative project that was determined during the reciprocal visits of Chinese and Austrian presidents in 2011. It is the first international collaborative site at the national level in Nantong, with a planned total area of 10 square kilometers.
