CeMAT ASIA, a logistic technologies and products expo held annually in the Asia-Pacific region, will be grandly opened in Shanghai New International Expo Centre on Oct 27-30, according to a press conference in Beijing by the expo’s organizers on Oct 14.

With the transformation and upgrading of China’s economy, labor costs are growing rapidly. Thus, more and more companies are adopting logistical automation systems, while the growth of the mobile Internet economy drives the rapid rise in e-commerce.

The expo will focus on popular logistics industries such as e-commerce, tobacco, manufacturing, clothing and bulk commodity logistics.

It is jointly being organized by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Deutsche Messe AG and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. A series of value-added activities will be held concurrently, such as an innovation salon, professional seminar and business matchup.

The expo consists of eight thematic display areas, including system integration and solutions, conveying equipment, automated guided vehicles, forklifts and parts, hoisting equipment and parts, pallet and storage racking, auto-ID and machine vision, and logistics machines.

Under the current recession in the equipment manufacturing industry, the logistics equipment manufacturing industry is growing fast with the rapid development and transformation of the logistics sector. The expo has attracted a large number of logistics machinery manufacturers, such as Heli, Jungheinrich, Goodsense and Ruyi.

Intelligent and automation products will be showcased, with the participation of a batch of leading international systems integration and system solution providers, such as Daifuku, Swisslog, TGW, Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute, Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Formosa, KENMEC and Siasun. They will display cutting-edge innovative products, according to the organizers.

The new generation shuttle technology used for internal storage will also make a public appearance.

The expo has for the first time established a logistical robotic display area this year. In particular, stacking robots and other high-grade, precision and advanced products will be exhibited. In addition, the exhibition will hold nearly 20 professional activities, including different kinds of exhibits shows, thematic forums, meetings and buyer tours from the sectors related to the logistics industry.
