Qingdao to host Internet+Industry summit

The first international summit in China focusing on Internet+Industry, the World Internet+Industry Conference, will be held on Oct 15 and 16 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

It will bring together officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, scholars of research institutes and entrepreneurs from companies such as the Haier Group, General Electric Co, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and Xiaomi Corp to discuss how industry needs to reform in the Internet era.

“The meeting aims to provide a high-end platform for international industries to communicate and cooperate. They can learn ideas and progressive models then explore the most suitable way for themselves,” said Wang Guangzhen, vice-mayor of Qingdao, in Beijing on Tuesday.

As a leading Chinese manufacturing city Qingdao is home to many famous brands and is bidding to become a national innovative city.

Xiang Yangqing, director of the Qingdao Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology said: "We are offering many support policies for the development of Internet+Industry and will seize this opportunity to advance further”.
