Family reunited after 30 years

A woman was reunited with her parents in Bengbu on Monday, 30 years after she was abducted. In 1985, when Zhao Na was 4, her parents were running a small restaurant in the city. They gave food and accommodations to a craftsman who, after staying with the family for three weeks, left with the girl. He traveled with her for two years before taking her to his hometown in Jiangsu province. He told Zhao what had happened before he died in 2013.

Passengers say buses are too slow

Residents have criticized new speed limits introduced for buses in Xiamen. The limit has been cut from 60 kph to 30 kph or 40 kph on some routes. The move by the Xiamen Public Transport Group is intended to improve safety. However, passengers are complaining that it now takes them too long to complete a journey.

WeChat post cost woman her job

A woman who posted on WeChat that she was depressed was sacked because her boss thought she was complaining about her job. However, the woman, surnamed Li, took her former employer to court and said her depression had been caused by family problems. The court accepted her explanation on Monday, and ordered the company to pay her 20,000 yuan ($3,200) compensation.

Father killed by son he helped to free

A father has been killed by the son he helped to free from a mental hospital. The son, Li Tao, 40, was admitted to the hospital five years ago after he seriously injured his aunt with a knife. His father, Li Zhongxing, arranged his release last August. On Saturday, Li Zhongxing was found dead at the home in Yongkang he shared with his son. Li Tao had vanished, and police are trying to find him.

Suicide bid mother causes gas blast

A woman caused an explosion as she tried to kill herself by inhaling gas in Ningbo on Sunday. She was upset because her son, a junior high school student, had a girlfriend. The blast injured five people, including the woman and a policeman who was trying to persuade her not to attempt suicide. All are said to be in stable condition.
