BEIJING - A total of 509 people have received disciplinary punishments for forced demolition and land appropriation since 2007, announced the Communist Party of China (CPC) anti-graft authorities on Wednesday.

It was also revealed that, from 2007 to 2011, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Supervision cracked down on 32 cases involving environmental violation, and shut down 4,854 enterprises which illegally discharged pollutants.

According to the anti-graft authorities, 2,393 people have been handed over to judicial departments for illegal land resources disruption.

Since the 17th CPC National Congress in 2007, China has paid high attention to problems in close relation with citizens's interests, including house demolition, land resources arrangements, food and drug safety and environmental protection.
