People from Wuhan city of Hubei province found a forest turtle along Yangtze River measuring 40 cm by 30 cm, a rarely huge shape for its species. Before handing it over to a local marine park for better care, they sent it to a temple for a prayer service, an event held by ancient Chinese to wish for luck and longevity.
The news caused a sensation online as some Web users were surprised by the huge animal, while some others slammed the service as superstitious.
