List of museum exhibitions released

The State Administration of Cultural Heritage released a list of museum exhibitions nationwide last week to better guide the public.

More than 250 museum exhibitions, some of which will last until November, are included in the list, which will be an annual affair.

The administration said the move is to ensure that the public pays sufficient attention to cultural heritage in both the first half and second half of the year.

Since the national Cultural Heritage Day and International Museum Day both fall in the first half of the year, more public focus on cultural heritage and museums is typically seen during that period.

From 2016, the administration will make September to November the national exhibition promotion season and offer detailed guidance to museum visitors in advance.

According to the administration, the Chinese mainland now has 4,510 museums, including 3,528 State-owned ones.
