GUANGZHOU - Six workers were killed on Tuesday morning after being hit by a sedan in south China's Guangdong Province, according to local authorities.
The accident happened at around 7 a.m. in Huangpu District in Guangzhou City, the provincial capital, said a statement from the city's public security bureau.
The car plowed into a group of workers who were repairing a fire hydrant at the entrance to a construction site, killing six of them on the spot, said the statement.
Another worker, the driver and a passenger in the car were injured and sent to the hospital.
The police are investigating the case. They will conduct a blood test to determine whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
