Beijing to announce new economic bloc plan

A plan to construct a Beijing economic bloc, which will include three districts in Tianjin municipality and nine cities in Hebei province, will be disclosed in September, Yanzhao Metropolis Daily reported on Monday.

Beijing's economic bloc will create more government investments from the capital to selected regions to further economic development. According to the report, the plan was drawn up by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Cities in Hebei province that will be included in the bloc are Zhangjiakou, Chengde, Baoding, Langfang, Tangshan, Qinhuangdao, Hengshui, Cangzhou and Shijiazhuang; Baodi and Wuqing districts and Jixian county in Tianjin will also be included in the bloc.
