Informant Zhou Lubao said he will continue to make corruption allegations against a senior official in Northwest China's Gansu province to the top discipline watchdog after his initial report was rejected by local disciplinary authorities.

Zhou told reporters over the weekend that he would bring the case to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.

Earlier this month, Zhou posted pictures on the Internet of Lanzhou Mayor Yuan Zhanting wearing at least five watches, which Zhou identified as being expensive brand name timepieces, including an Omega decorated with diamonds, a Constantin, a golden Rolex and a Rado.

Discipline authorities of Gansu province initiated an investigation, but on Friday, they said Yuan possesses only three watches, and the most expensive one costs about 25,000 yuan ($4,000). All three watches were bought by Yuan, according to the local discipline authorities.

On Saturday, Zhou said he is unsatisfied with the results of the investigation and he has compiled documents against Yuan to mail to the top discipline watchdog in Beijing.
