Boy buried in well where he died

The body of a 3-year-old boy who died after falling into a 95-meter deep well in Beijing was buried in the well on Tuesday with the consent of his parents.

The terrestrial well, part of a central air-condition system for a shopping mall in Chaoyang district, will also be sealed, after the Ming Ming's parents reached a compensation agreement with the shopping mall.

Some workers from a construction team sealing the well didn't cover it when leaving the site on Aug 13, which led to the accident, according to the publicity department of Chaoyang district.

Ming fell into the well while playing football. Rescuers tried to save the boy but could not reach him because the opening of the well was only 42 centimeters.

He was declared dead the next day after a camera was lowered into the well and took pictures of his body. Ming's family agreed to stop efforts to retrieve his body several days later because of the immense difficulty.
