NEW DELHI -- At least two people were killed and more than 15 others injured in a bomb blast in the Indian state of Bihar on Friday, a senior police officer said.

"The blast happened in the premises of a local court in the state's Arrah town. While the dead included a policeman and a woman suspected of carrying bombs in a bag, those injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital," he said, on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, some local media reported that three people including the attacker died in the incident.

Senior police officers have rushed to the spot to ascertain if there was a terror angle to the blast or it was linked to any key court case, the officer added.

There is a nationwide security alert ahead of US President Barack Obama's three-day visit to India, beginning Sunday.
