ISLAMABAD - At least five people were killed and eight others injured when a bomb went off inside a football ground in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Lower Orakzai on Sunday evening, local media reported.

Dawn TV said that the bomb was triggered by a remote control when boys aged between 14 to 18 years were playing football in the ground located in Lower Orakzai, a tribal area along Pakistan- Afghanistan border.

The explosives were fixed in the ground by some unknown militants before the match started, said the report.

The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
