BEIJING - China on Friday lauded Pakistan's efforts to establish a national counter-terrorism plan.

The leaders of Pakistan's main political parties on Wednesday attended a landmark meeting convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on terrorism measures, including the establishment of special courts to expedite the trials of terror suspects.

On Dec 16, a Taliban attack killed 150 people, including 134 children, in the northwestern city of Peshawar.

"China will continue to provide assistance to Pakistan in its efforts to counter terrorism and safeguard its national security," Hua said.
