1 dead, 8 missing after cargos collision in Japan

TOKYO -- One Chinese crew member was confirmed dead and eight still went missing after a Panama- registered cargo capsized after collision early Tuesday morning off waters near Miura port in Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.

A total of 20 Chinese crew members were on board the Panama cargo when the ship clashed with a South Korean cargo at around 3: 20 a.m. local time Tuesday and 11 of them have been saved.

The collision also caused damage to the South Korean ship, while all of its 14 crew members are safe.

Searching for the missing is underway.
