A legendary love story with a modern twist

A dozen foreigners played the part of a legendary figure in a romantic love story one day ahead of Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, in downtown Wuhan, Hubei province on Wednesday.

Chinese legend has it that Niulang, a cowherd, only gets to meet his beloved, Zhinv the weaving maid, once a year.

The foreign guys wore modern suits rather than traditional Chinese clothes, and each led a buffalo tethered on a leash, creating quite a sharp contrast that attracted large crowds.

It was yet to be known how many of the men found their "weaving maid" through the activity.
