Bouncy eggs found in Xi'an

It bounces up and down like a ping-pong ball, it’s difficult to smash and it is tastes like rubber, what is it? Well, according to the Huangshang Daily, it's an egg yolk.

Several Xi'an residents have found the eggs that they purchased from markets have peculiarities after the eggs have been boiled. One yolk was even able to bounce up to 10 centimeters, reported a man to Huangshang Daily. The news has triggered renewed concerns about food safety.

Experts said this might have to do with the high-protein additives in chicken feed or the low temperature preservation of the eggs.
