Slide the City, a family friendly slip-and-slide water party which originated in the United States last year, made its first appearance in China at the weekend with around 30,000 visitors pouring into a leisure resort in Shenzhen.

With the world's longest triple-track water slide at 300 meters, the event also took advantage of the sunny weather and transformed the Mission Hills Centreville complex into an expansive fairground with more than 100 stalls.

"Summer is the perfect time for families and friends to enjoy some fun water activities. Slide the City has brought joy to many cities so we are excited to finally bring the event to China," said Ken Chu, chairman and CEO of the Mission Hills Group.

Prior to its China debut, the event had toured more than 150 cities including London, New York and Toronto.
