Snowfall forecast for north, haze for central China

BEIJING -- A strong cold front bringing snow is expected to hit North China, with smog in Central China over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast on Sunday.

A cold front will sweep China from west to east, bringing temperatures down by 4 to 10 degrees Celsius from Monday to Wednesday.

Snow will fall in central, eastern and northeastern China in the coming days. The Yunnan and Guizhou Plateau will experience sleet.

Light to moderate fog and smog will blanket the central and southern part of north China, as well as areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers on Monday and Tuesday. Some regions will experience heavy haze and fog.
