The partners of more than 400 local government officials in one Chinese county have been given a special lesson in how to prevent corruption, southcn.com reported Friday.

The special corruption prevention class was held in the southern county of Sihui, Guangdong province by Deng Xinqiong, deputy chief of the supervision bureau of Zhaoqing city which has jurisdiction over Sihui county.

Deng recalled real examples of corrupt officials and taught the attendees how to resist bribes and help their incumbent husbands and wives stay clean.

Those attending the class thought the initiative was informative and provoked deep thoughts.

This is the first such class in Zhaoqing city and sparked a heated debate on the Internet. Most feel positive toward the move, saying it strengthened a weak link in the anti-corruption drive by expanding education to officials' family members. Others are concerned such classes may become a mere formality and lack any practical effect.
