7.0-magnitude quake hits Kamchatka peninsula

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale jolted Kamchatka peninsula at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said.

The epicenter was monitored at 54 degrees north latitude and 158.6 degrees east longitude, with the focus 160 km deep, said the center.
