South Korean delegation meets Fijian officials to discuss cooperation

SUVA - A South Korean academic delegation met with Fijian officials on Monday, discussing areas of potential bilateral cooperation and exploring business opportunities.

In the meeting with Fijian Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, retired Maj. Gen. Lee Myung-koo, president of the Korean Institute for Military Affairs, thanked the Fijian government for the good working relations and cooperation that exist between Fiji and the Republic of Korea, according to Fiji's Department of Information.

"These strong ties have enabled regular high-level contact between the two countries. It is also a positive reflection on the steadfast work being undertaken by Fiji's diplomatic representatives in Seoul," said the department.

Lee confirmed that they have also had fruitful discussions with other local stakeholders, including the top brass of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

Kubuabola initiated and facilitated a meeting for the delegation with Fiji's Minister of Defense Timoci Lesi Natuva, said the department.
