Chinese Premier Li Keqiang urged a more intensified search for a missing Malaysia Airlines jet with 154 Chinese on board on Wednesday while speaking with the captain of a naval vessel on the search mission on the phone.

Li made his remarks while visiting the State Council's emergency working center.

The massive multinational search in its fifth day has failed to find any trace of MH Flight 370, carrying 239 people, after it vanished on early Saturday.

China has widened search areas by sending both sea vessels and aircraft.
