Five days in Chengdu

I have living in China for more than three years and I can tell you that Chengdu is the most charming and inviting cities, and one of the biggest cities in China. You can walk around the city through the small alleys and experiment the real Chinese lifestyle of local people. People fill their tea cups with hot water, eat sunflowers seeds and have a long talk with their friends or family.

As my first day in Chengdu I ate Sichuan dish named "Mala Tang" (tingling spicy hot pot) I arrived to the railway station, I was hungry and I took the most delicious meal we had eat, just a few steps from the railway station.

The second day was in the middle of the city. I hired a Hostel near by the old downtown. The people were so kindly and the facilities were also good. I hit the streets with my eyes wide open and let the city embrace me.

I spend the third and fourth day at LeShan Mountains. The Giant Buddha in Leshan was awesome, is the largest Buddha statue in the world. I have been in some other mountains, like HuangShan, DaTong and ZhangJiaJie. I took the bus and drove me into the Deep forest, surrounded by a huge mountain; I knew it I was just a few steps to reach the sky. I walk to the ticket office and bought the tickets. When I was walking and taking pictures my eyes can’t believe the place where I was. Literally I was walking through the clouds.

The Fifth was an interesting day at the Panda Research Base. I skip the breakfast and hit the road with my camera and a bottle of water. To be there for the 7:30 a.m. opening when the park is silent and the cubs in the Sunshine Nursery are just waking up. At 10:00 a.m. the pandas are more active; they play around the park, run or climb the threes. There were lots of pandas, different colors and sizes. By midmorning the pandas are ready to the siesta and they go to rest. The panda’s show is over.
