The Chinese government expressed its firm opposition after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted another nuclear test on Friday, saying Pyongyang totally disregarded global criticism.

China strongly urges the DPRK to keep its promise of non-proliferation, abide by the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and to refrain from any act that will worsen the situation, the Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement on its website.

China takes a firm stand in realizing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, preventing nuclear proliferation and safeguarding the peace and stability of Northeast Asia, it read.

China will work together with the international society to firmly promote the denuclearization of the peninsula, and insist on solving related issues through Six-Party Talks, it added.
