ISLAMABAD - Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday left for China on a three-day visit to attend the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leader's Meeting in Beijing.

The prime minister said in a departure statement that his China visit is also aimed at ending load-shedding in the country.

He will hold meetings with the Chinese president and prime minister and discuss regional situation and bilateral relations, Pakistan's state radio reported.

"The visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations," Radio Pakistan said.

According to the report, during the visit, the two countries will sign agreements worth billions of dollars investment in Pakistan.

These agreements include projects relating to electricity generation, besides several contracts for infrastructure development and development of Gwadar Port in southwestern Balochistan province.

The agreements also include construction of Khuzdar-Gwadar road as part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The two countries would also sign agreements for cooperation on railways and establishment of special economic zones.

The prime minister said the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project will have far-reaching impact on the national economy.

He said projects to be executed with China's cooperation will provide jobs to thousands of youth. He said local and foreign investors can get benefit from bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China.
