The rapid development of creative industries has captured the world’s attention. Creative industries have tremendous potential influence in terms of increasing value-added, and the ability to penetrate and integrate advanced manufacturing, services, and cultural spheres. The rapid development of creative industries can also aid in constructing a harmonious and creative society, as well as enhancing the creative consciousness of the general public.

Followed twice great success in 2005 and 2006, the 2007 Shanghai International Creative Industry Week was opened on 15, November. Organized by the Shanghai Creative Industry Centre, in close collaboration with the Shanghai Municipal government, it is a showcase of domestic and international companies in the creative industry.

This year's event was held at the recently renovated 1933 Millfun building (Lao Yang Fang ) and included an exhibition, forum and conference that runs over seven days until the 21st of November.
