BEIJING - Another cold front moving eastward will bring more snow to northeast China in the next three days, along with temperature drops and strong winds in some areas, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast on Saturday.

Light or showery snow will fall in northern parts of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, eastern parts of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and most northeast regions, with areas in Inner Mongolia, Jilin and Liaoning province expecting heavy snow from Sunday, the center said.

Temperatures in these regions will drop by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, and some areas will experience gales, the center said.

Meanwhile, rainfalls in south China are weakening as the current cold front affecting the regions is heading further south, it said.

The authority also warned of light to moderate fog in the next 24 hours in northeastern parts of north China and some areas in south-central and east China, especially around the Yangtze River basin.
