The CISAR, dispatched by the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), set up the first relief camp in a suburb of Colombo, capital of the flood-stricken Sri Lanka on June 1. The team also trained 40 Sri Lankan soldiers and 10 reserves on the same day. The emergency humanitarian aid, including camps, and folding beds provided by the Chinese government to the flood-stricken Sri Lanka has arrived at the Colombo International Airport on May 31.

The Chinese government delegated the RCSC to dispatch the CISAR to assist local officers in the distribution and installation of relief supplies and official training.
