Exhibition showcases diversity of young Chinese artists

Feng Zhengquan's triptych represents the variety of painting red apples from different angles. Depicting apples as if they were specimen, the artist decides to abandon the fictional or literary feature of painting but focus on narration itself. As most people learn how to draw from drawing an apple, the artists has spent years painting such symbolic "apple" to express that painting should not be burdened or constrained by a so-called significance.
