JAKARTA -- Delegates from 109 Asian and African countries and regions are to attend the 2015 Asia Africa Smart City Summit (AASCS) from April 22 to April 23 in Indonesia's Bandung city.

The Jakarta Post reported on Monday that mayors from these Asian and African countries and regions are expected to exchange ideas on urban-related issues including over-population, pollution, energy shortage and housing problems at the AASCS.

The 2015 AASCS, themed Smart City for Civilization Advancement, is organized by Bandung city administration on the sidelines of the ongoing Asian-African Conference.

"Urban-related issues are crucial because they are also keys to resolving national problems as well," Suhono Harso Supangkat, chairman of the 2015 AASCS, was quoted as saying.

He said the theme of the 2015 AASCS is in line with one of the aims of the Asian-African Conference.
