Tongbai county
Tongbai divides the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. The unique Tongbai culture is formed from a long history of traditional folk customs, the most distinct of which come from Buddhism and Taoism.
Known as the "Capital of Red Leaves", Tongbai is home to the Huanggang Red Leaves Scenic Area and Huaiyuan National Forest Park.
Tongbai was labeled as the "Capital of Trona in China" by the China Association of Mining and Technology in 2006, the "Top 10 Cultural Model Counties in Henan Province" in 2007 and the "Henan Provincial Well-conserved County" in 2014 by the Henan government.
