China's vocational schools will continue to set up educational services abroad over the next five years, a senior Ministry of Education official said on Wednesday.

"On one hand, we will invite countries with advanced experience to come to China and share their experience. On the other hand, Chinese vocational schools will go abroad through 'going global' policies, along with the Belt and Road Initiative," said Wang Jiping, of the ministry's vocational department.

During Wednesday's news conference, the ministry recounted China's accomplishments in vocational education over the past five years and looked ahead at the next five years. It said investment in vocational education had surged in the past five years, from 212 billion yuan in 2009 to 342.4 billion yuan in 2014.

Graduates of vocational schools have stable and good employment rates, and those with potential can apply for college after vocational schools, the ministry said.
