Yibin Airport, renamed Yibin Wuliangye Airport, is to be relocated and rebuilt in Zongchang township in the city of Yibin, Southwest China's Sichuan province, the West China Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.

Yibin Wuliangye Airport is the first airport to be named after a company, Wuliangye Group Co Ltd, the liquor maker in Yibin.

Construction of Yibin Wuliangye Airport is expected to start this year and take over three years, said Xie Jie, vice-mayor of Yibin, at a press conference arranged by Yibin municipal government on Wednesday.

After the airport is built, it will handle about 800,000 passengers, 7,000 tons of cargo, and 10,000 air traffic movements by 2020, Xie said.
