HANOI -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday that the Communist Party of China (CPC) stands ready to promote party-to-party communication with the Vietnamese side.

Xi made the remarks while meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.

The Chinese leader said his country is willing to strengthen exchanges of experiences in governing country and party building with Vietnam, so as to jointly improve the governing capacity of both sides.

He pointed out that both China and Vietnam attach importance to party building, with the two parties facing a host of similar issues.

China and Vietnam constitute a community of common destiny with strategic significance, Xi said, adding that the futures of the socialism cause of the two countries are highly intertwined.

To strengthen and develop the socialism system in both countries, Xi said the two sides are expected to consolidate their traditional friendship, reinforce the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, stick to mutually benefitial and win-win cooperation, and facilitate culture and people-to-people exchanges.

The Chinese president also expressed his satisfaction for the successful visit to the Southeast Asian country, during which he has reached many important consensuses to enhance bilateral ties with the Vietnamese leaders.

Echoing his remarks, Trong said that the Vietnamese side, highly valuing party building under new circumstances, has focused on China's experiences in party building and socialism development.

Willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China, Vietnam is ready to promote collaboration with China in all areas, he said.

This is the second time the two leaders met during Xi's two-day visit to Vietnam. In their first meeting, they vowed to improve their bilateral practical cooperation on all levels for the benefits of the two peoples.
