Chinese embassy in Bangladesh holds reception to celebrate 88th founding anniversary of PLA

DHAKA - The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, held a reception to solemnly celebrate the 88th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China.

About 300 guests including high-ranking officers and officials, politicians, diplomats and scholars, attended the reception held on Tuesday night.

Bangladeshi high ranking army officials and military attaches of other foreign countries congratulated on the 88th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and on the achievements of the Chinese army in her modernization drive.

They also expressed appreciation on the active action of China in the UN peace missions and full consensus on the efforts made by the Chinese army in active participation in maintaining world peace and regional stability.

Chinese Defense Attache in Bangladesh Senior Colonel Zhang Wei made a speech at the reception.

He highlights the rapid progress in Bangladesh-China military cooperation in the last few years, hailing it as "the unprecedented level of cooperation".

Over the last three decades, he said Bangladesh and China have maintained close defense ties.

He recalled that Chinese PLA Navy ship "Peace Ark" visited Bangladesh's southeastern Chittagong again and provided humanitarian medical services for local people.

Bangladesh so far is the only country in the world to receive Chinese medical ship twice, he added.

Notably, he mentioned, Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, and Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yangdong separately visited Bangladesh with great success.

The topmost Chinese delegations called on the Bangladeshi president and prime minister and signed a series of agreements.
